Carl Snyder joined Dimensional in 1991. He serves as a senior trader in the Austin office and is responsible for security purchases in the small cap asset class. This includes program/list trading and block trading for all US strategies that have a small cap component. Carl also serves as the portfolio manager and trader for Dimensional's S&P 500 fund and REIT fund. Prior to joining Dimensional, Carl worked as a manufacturing engineer for Xerox Corporation.

Carl received an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1991. He also holds a BS degree in industrial engineering from Oregon State University.
